How to install VMware Workstation 7.1.4 in Ubuntu 10.10

Installing VMware Workstation 7.1.4 for Linux in Ubuntu 10.10 is pretty straightforward.  You no longer have to do it via command line, since VMware does provide a bundled GUI install. In this case, the instructions are to install 32-bit version of VMware Workstation on a 32-bit version of Ubuntu. To install 64-bit version of VMware Workstation — download 64-bit bundle instead.

To begin, download VMware-Workstation-Full-7.1.4-385536.i386.bundle(~311MB) from the VMware website and run the bundle setup file:
You need to register for downloading this
sudo sh VMware-Workstation-Full-7.1.4-385536.i386.bundle
This will start the installation wizard GUI:
